Why Donate?

Every donation – big or small, financial or material – goes directly to support our By Kids, For Kids Writing Interns, our Greentimes readers, and teachers and summer programming. The teens we work with receive much-needed mentorship as well as the chance to enhance academic, job, teamwork and leadership skills. Our young readers receive fun, curriculum-based science texts that expose them to the wonderful world around them. And our teachers receive curriculum support, classroom materials and ideas, and cross-disciplinary activity guides. The best part of it all is that we provide all these services for free!

"I use Greentimes JR for my special education and ESL students. Many of them come from homes that cannot afford books and magazines. Most of my students take pride in owning their very own "newspaper". It allows me to give them reading materials they can also share with their parents, many of whom are emergent readers too, especially my 2nd language learners' parents."
     -- Ms. Murphy

"Because we don’t have science books and all the materials we (2nd grade) use we get ourselves, it is an invaluable resource to have."
     -- Ms. Welch
